| TESL-EJ publishes original articles in the research and practice of
English as a second or foreign language. TESL-EJ welcomes studies in ESL/EFL
pedagogy, second language acquisition, language assessment, applied socio-
and psycholinguistics, and other related areas, for quarterly publication.
Articles, reviews, or forum discussion should conform generally to the American Psychological Association (4th Edition) format, with the following adjustments made for computer-based dissemination: Text should be single-spaced in non-kerning font (Courier, 12-pt. is generally a good choice). Lines should be no more than 72 characters wide. Please double-space between paragraphs for clarity. Manuscripts may be sent in an e-mail message or by attachment in text-only or Microsoft Word 6 format. Please notify the editor in advance for transfer of related sound, graphics, or video files. Notes should be endnotes, and kept to a minimum. Endnotes should be numbered, using square brackets, consecutively within the text. For example: ...this unusual methodology [1]...These notes will link to the actual endnotes. All initial submissions should be sent preferably by e-mail to the appropriate editor (see below). Those without e-mail access may submit their manuscripts on a 1.4MB 3.5 inch diskette in either MS-DOS or Macintosh format. CD-ROMS or Zip disks are also acceptable submission media. The editors reserve the right to reject poorly edited or improperly formatted manuscripts. Articles: Full-length articles should include an abstract no more than 150 words. Before accepting any article for publication, the editor shall solicit recommendations by two qualified reviewers. These reviewers will be members of the TESL-EJ Editorial Board, or other qualified experts. The names of all readers will be disseminated annually, in the last quarter of the publication year. Forum and Discussion: The Forum, a vehicle for discussion of topics of interest, also invites contributions. Query: Karen Stanley, Forum Editor
Classroom Focus: Classroom Focus articles are reviewed in the same manner as main articles, and should include an abstract of no more than 150 words. These articles should describe a particular classroom practice in its cultural context. These should be scholarly articles, not "how-to" pieces.
